All staff at our Kāhui Ako schools are invited to come along to our regular events to spend time learning about the issues that matter to our kura. We aim to provide opportunities for staff from across schools to discuss common challenges, share aspirations and collaborate on solutions. Forum #1 UDL for Beginners - Small steps, big impact!

Date: Week Four - Thursday the 7th November

Time: 3.40-5pm

Intended for: All staff

This forum will introduce tools that all teachers of all year levels can use to implement UDL strategies into everyday practice. The workshop will allow teachers time to look at incorporating UDL into one of their topics. The aim is to start small. No prior knowledge required. Just bring a laptop or some pen and paper.

Afterschool Forum - Meeting the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the classroom

A session run by international autism specialist, and local father of a Kāpiti student, Sean Fitzgerald. It will focus on how we can understand and support our students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and also PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance). The session will be valuable to anyone that works with young people, either one on one or in a class setting.
